Blake Garvey and Louise Pillidge split: ‘It was suffocating’
SAM Frost, the woman Bachelor love rat Blake Garvey proposed to before dumping her for second runner-up Louise Pillidge, has had her say on the demise of their relationship.
BACHELOR love rat Blake Garvey is single again after announcing he and Louise Pillidge have split.
The pair confirmed to New Ideathat they have gone their separate ways 18 months after he proposed to Sam Frost during the Bachelor finale, only to change his mind and profess his love for second-runner up Pillidge instead.
And now Frost, who was also left broken hearted by the 33-year-old real estate agent, has had her say on the pair’s split on Twitter.
All breakups are awful & sad. Let alone having to do it in the public eye. Go easy on them! I just hope Lou is ok & staying strong.. xx

28-year-old Pillidge told the mag it was Garvey’s decision to end the relationship.
“We sat down recently and Blake said: ‘It’s just not working - I feel like we’re treading water’. I knew deep down that he was right but I would never have been strong enough to say it.
“It feels surreal and since then I have gone through so many emotions. I’ve been crying, numb and angry”.

She also admitted she found it difficult to accept that she was not the Garvey’s first choice.
“The negativity has been draining, plus it took months to deal with the fact I was Blake’s third choice of partner,” she said. “In the end, I had to build a bridge and get over it if I was serious about making a go of our relationship”.
Garvey also admitted there was a lot of tension in the relationship.
“We were walking on eggshells around each other, always trying to say the right thing ... It was suffocating,” added Garvey.
The pair underwent three months of counselling in a bid to repair the relationship after being unhappy for some time, but it wasn’t enough to save it.
Pillidge moved to Perth from Brisbane shortly after the relationship began and the pair are still living together in separate bedrooms in their Subiaco apartment.
“Weirdly, we are supporting each other through this,” said Pillidge.
One of Pillidge’s friends told New Idea only a month ago that the pair were headed for a split.
“They’ve been trying to live the fairytale, but the truth is Blake doesn’t always treat her like a princess,” the friend revealed.
“He can be moody and switch from freezing her out to talking her down. We hate to see it because she’s a beautiful soul and deserves better.”
The friend also said Pillidge was homesick and questioned if she made the right decision moving to Perth.
“She has no close friends over there, and misses her mum terribly. If they break up, it won’t be her fault — it will be his.
“I’m not sure if settling down into domesticity is what Blake is ready for. At best, she’ll stay and put up with it, but it’s hard to see it lasting.”
