Big Brother evictee Garth reveals truth about Chad and Sophie’s romance

Blink-and-you’ll-miss-it scenes revealed two Big Brother housemates are sleeping together. Here’s what’s really going down.

Big Brother fans could be forgiven for wondering if they’d somehow missed an episode or two when they tuned into the show last night.

A brief clip at the top of the episode showed contestants Chad and Sophie curled up asleep in bed together, wrapped in each other’s arms.

Hold up – when did that happen?

It’s the sort of budding romance that would’ve become a major plot point in the old Big Brother – but not in Big Brother 2020, where gameplay and strategy dominates airtime.

So we had to ask the game’s latest evictee, Garth, what he’d seen of the relationship between gymnast Sophie, 25, and model Chad, 27.

This is about as risque as Big Brother gets in 2020.

“It kind of just felt very natural. They’re both amazing people and really respectful. In past seasons, everyone jumped into bed and was at it like rabbits,” Garth told news.com.au.

“But she went for a cuddle every night and then went back to her own bed … it was lovely to watch. I love them both; I think they’ll be great friends out of the house.”

Sophie and Chad cuddle up again.

Or perhaps more – Sophie’s stayed vague on Instagram when fans have asked if she and Chad are dating.

“Seems to be the question on everyone’s lips … I guess we will have to wait and see,” she wrote overnight.

Meanwhile, Garth’s fiery exit in last night’s episode came after he suffered the ultimate Big Brother indignity, copping an eviction vote from every single one of his housemates.

“It came as a complete shock; the day before I felt the strongest I’d felt in the game. I thought, with Angela gone, I’ve really got a chance of winning this thing,” he said.

Ah, Angela. This season’s fan favourite is back in the house after being voted out once by her housemates – just how long can she last until they target her again?

Garth certainly didn’t make life easier for her on his way out, dramatically announcing that she’d invited him into the secret bunker she was in during her absence from the house. Cue a not-very-believable “What is he talking about?” from Angela to her suspicious housemates.

“Angela’s a formidable player – I don’t trust her as far as I can throw her, so when I left, I thought I’d drop her a bit of a bombshell and throw her under the bus,” Garth told news.com.au.

“But in the house, it’s play someone or be played back, so kudos to her for making the first big bold move. I don’t think the house was big enough for both of us … I just hope the show isn’t just left with a bunch of real dull boring people.”
