Bec Judd reveals her random secret to success on Amazing Race Australia
The glamorous WAG has revealed how she had an edge over her fellow Amazing Race contestants ahead of the premiere tonight.
The Amazing Race Australia is back for another season, and this time, with an all-celebrity cast.
Star-studded teams will compete across India, Malaysia, Cambodia and Borneo when the Ten series premieres Wednesday night, with Beau Ryan returning as host.
Among the well-known cast includes Melbourne influencer and AFL wife, Bec Judd, whose sister Kate Twigley joins her on her team.
Mother-of-four Bec is known for her lavish lifestyle, which she regularly posts about on social media, so it’s fair to assume she’s no doubt not used to the rough elements involved with filming The Amazing Race.
A trailer released last month teased the high-profile cast would be flying economy and staying in backpacker hostels.
But Bec revealed she had a unique edge over her competition.
Speaking on KIIS 101.1’s Jase & Lauren ahead of her debut, Bec said her extreme germaphobia worked to her advantage.
“Kate and I were the only team that didn’t sh*t ourselves. Everyone was giving us a hard time about being germaphobes and packing too much medication,” she said.
“Half of my kit was medication. I had more medication than the medic on the show.
“Every food challenge, I’d put Travelan in my mouth beforehand, but Kate would pop it in so we wouldn’t touch it with our fingers.
“Everyone gave us a hard time saying we overreacted, but we were one of the only teams that weren’t vomiting and sh**ting our way through India.
“People were going down left, right and centre.”
While she managed to avoid getting sick, Bec conceded the experience was “much harder” than she anticipated.
“We are superfans of The Amazing Race, my sister and I. We were watching in high school and it’s one of those reality TV shows that we said if we ever got offered that, we would actually do that one,” Bec said.
“Some of the celebs we were talking to have done a lot of reality TV and some strenuous types of shows and they all said that the Amazing Race was the hardest they have ever done.
“I loved it but there were parts that I absolutely hated and wanted to give up.”
She continued: “My sister, once we finished, she would wake up in the middle of the night and she would get her hiking bag and her racing kit and put it on and start sleepwalking through the house being like ‘Where are the clues, we’ve got to go’, and her husband would have to get her up and put her to bed and say ‘You aren’t on the race anymore Kate’.”
