Bachelor winner reveals ‘horrible’ way she discovered her ex was gay
Cassie Randolph, who won a season of the Bachelor in 2018, has revealed how she discovered the man who offered her the final rose was gay.
Cassie Randolph revealed her ex-boyfriend Colton Underwood did not tell her he was gay before coming out on “Good Morning America”.
“I found out the same way that everyone else did,” Randolph said on Tuesday’s episode of the “Off the Vine with Kaitlyn Bristowe” podcast.
“I was actually in Mexico on vacation with friends, which was great to be away, but yeah, I found out through Snapchat on ‘GMA.’ It was horrible. It was just a shocking kind of thing.”
“Bachelor” Underwood, 30, chose Randolph, 26, as his Season 23 winner in late 2018, and the two dated until they announced their break-up in May 2020.
Randolph took out a restraining order against Underwood that September for allegedly stalking and harassing her, but she dropped it less than two months later.

Underwood then shocked Bachelor Nation when he came out as gay in April 2021. At the time, he apologised to his ex.
“I would like to say sorry for how things ended,” Underwood said in his “GMA” interview with Robin Roberts. “I messed up. I made a lot of bad choices.”
Randolph has since been relatively inactive in “Bachelor” world.
“I guess I did kind of take a step back from doing things for a while last year just because I needed a little break from everything, so maybe that’s why people were shocked,” she told Bristowe, referring to her appearance on Clayton Echard’s “Bachelor” finale last week.
The YouTuber added that she “didn’t want everything to be so in my face” and that it ended up being a “healthy break.”
When Bristowe, 36, continued asking about the aftermath of the relationship, Randolph admitted that it is “really hard” for her to be open about it.
“It’s really hard for me to talk about it at all or even know the right thing to say when addressing it,” she continued. “I feel like so much pressure when asked about it. I would love to be able to be open and candid about things, but I’m just not there yet, and I’m sure I will one day like want to speak on it because there’s just a lot there.”
Randolph has moved on with musician Brighton Reinhardt, to whom she has been linked since fall 2020. Underwood, for his part, got engaged to Jordan C. Brown in February.
