Survivor star Harry’s drastic weight loss revealed
Harry shed a staggering amount of weight during his 49 days on Survivor — then one night out of the game saw him transform once more.
This season’s Australian Survivor third-place getter Harry Hills lost a staggering 13kg during his 49 days in the game.
And the transformation didn’t end there — the WA ice cream maker and amateur wrestler left the game tired and dirty, and emerged at jury villa the very next day with a whole new look.
Settling into his brief stay at jury villa, Harry enlisted ex-contestants Daisy and Shaun to help him tidy up his Survivor scruff, ending up with a new mo that was very Errol Flynn meets porno pool cleaner:
At jury villa, Harry said his 13kg weight loss was “inevitable … (the game) takes a toll”.
But he said the toughest aspect of his time on Survivor was being cut off from the outside world, in an age where smartphones make everyone accessible 24/7.
“Not having any access to your family, in a world where that sort of access is available almost anywhere, is a strange feeling. Not being able to ever email, call, message your girlfriend, your mum, your sisters, your dad. There’s only other players — and every one of them wants to be sole Survivor,” he said.

Survivor runner-up Baden Gilbert also went through a body transformation on the show, telling news.com.au this week that he lost around 6kg from his “already pretty scrawny” frame.
“There was a point just after the swap when I could feel a change in my body — it went from burning fat like normal to ‘let’s just conserve energy’,” he said.
“It was around that time I noticed I’d get head spins whenever I stood up — a few days later, everyone else started getting it too.
“It’s like your body switches over to a different mode of operation, and you have to accept you don’t have as much energy to work with anymore. It’s confronting.”
Gilbert revealed the hunger proved a much bigger challenge than he’d anticipated.
“I really struggled food-wise. I was always hungry, the whole time. Food was a constant struggle. I thought I’d settle into a rhythm where I was used to not having much food, but it was all I thought about.”
Harry and Baden’s respective transformations rank among the bigger weight losses this season — former AFL players Simon Black and Shaun Hampson shed 8.6kg and 10kg respectively, while bikini model Sam Schoers lost 8kg despite only being in the game for 16 days.
