Australian Survivor 2021 contestants George and Baden’s heated clash

One of Survivor’s most divisive players butts heads over his insistence he could take on an AFL legend. WARNING: Spoilers.

Australian Survivor: George and Baden clash

Australian Survivor contestant George might have saved half his tribemates from possible elimination during this year’s first tribal council, but he’s still butting heads with some of them.

Political operative George and champion cyclist Baden go head-to-head in a tense confrontation in Monday’s episode, with Baden labelling his teammate “delusional” and accusing him of playing for himself rather than the team.

Baden’s problem: George had eagerly volunteered himself to go head-to-head with retired AFL great Gavin Wanganeen during an earlier physical challenge. As Baden plainly put it, why did the Brains tribe’s “fifth-strongest guy” assume he was a good match for a Brownlow Medal winner?

“I definitely would’ve beaten him,” George insists. “This is how I operate: I don’t care about physique. I care about, ‘Is this person talking sh*t or not’’.”

“Talk about talking sh*t,” says Baden. “When they put Gavin Wanganeen up – AFL legend – and you put your hand up high, what was your strategy there? We stick our fifth-strongest guy in with an AFL legend?”

“I had no idea he was an AFL legend, and that means nothing to me,” George says.

“It means something when you’re wrestling him on sand. I think you’re delusional,” Baden says. “We don’t want to lose … I don’t think you’ve thought it through.”

George complains that he wasn’t even given the chance to compete against Wanganeen, further frustrating Baden.

“You’re just thinking about ‘YOU didn’t get the chance,’ ‘YOU’RE missing out’. It’s all about what’s best for you. Are you paying attention to the game at all? You’re delusional.”

Later on in Monday’s episode, the Brawn tribe headed to tribal council – and lost their first member, with cleaner and mum-of-three Janelle sent packing.

She said her teammates made a “big mistake” voting her out, and said the female players should have banded together to vote out health coach Emmett.

“If there’s one thing I could say to the girls: Get rid of Emmett. Think of your long game, and knock the head off the snake.”
