Who is Home and Away’s mystery pooper?
KATE Ritchie let slip on radio that a ‘very famous’ actor used to do some very nasty deeds on golf courses. So who could be the mystery pooper be?
A FORMER Home and Away star’s dirty little secret could soon be exposed on national radio.
On Nova’s drive show on Monday, Kate Ritchie revealed that a “very famous” actor who is no longer on the show used to brag about defecating in golf holes.
Co-hosts Tim Blackwell and Marty Sheargold have spent the past few days trying to uncover the identity of the mystery pooper, much to Ritchie’s dismay.
“Why do we need to find out who it is?” asked the dual Gold Logie winner on air yesterday.
“I don’t want to reveal the identity of this person. This person told me this story many years ago as a form of entertainment and you’re going to stop me from sharing.”
Ignoring her pleas to move on, the lads have fired a number of accusations at Ritchie this week.
“Is it Ray Meagher?” asked Blackwell.
“Ray would never tell stories like that, even if it was in his youth,” said Ritchie.
“Is it one of the many Pippas that rolled through the show?” asked Sheargold.
But when asked if the person with a fetish for achieving holes in one with his number twos could be Craig McLachlan, Ritchie was less than adamant with her denial.
“I’m not saying anything,” she said.
Spurred on by the potential clue, Blackwell and Sheargold dug deeper into the sordid affair and presented fresh evidence on air yesterday, after issuing several disclaimers.
“Let’s be very clear off the top that Tim and I are not saying that the person who pooed in the golf hole cups is Craig McLachlan,” said Sheargold.
“Two things we’ve discovered overnight,” said Blackwell, “In an interview with Andrew Denton on the ABC in 2005, Craig McLachlan said, and let’s be really clear here that we’re not suggesting he did this at all ... Craig McLachlan said ‘Our family home backed onto a public golf course’.”
“What a coincidence,” said Ritchie who was still refusing to confirm or deny.
The second piece of so called ‘evidence’ was a reply email they received from Craig McLachlan’s management team after the radio hosts asked the actor to appear on the show.
“Unfortunately Craig’s not available to chat at present,” said the email.
“Me thinks he doth protest too much,” said Sheargold.
“No comment from management, it’s like when you’ve got full support of the bloody board.”
News.com.au and Kate, Tim and Marty (4-6pm weekdays) will keep you up to date with any future developments in the hunt for the Home and Away pooper.
(FYI — news.com.au contacted McLachlan’s management, but the actor is out of the country and uncontactable).
