Too far? Radio station ticket giveaway results in this year’s grossest stunt
ONE woman proved just how far she’d go in an attempt to win free festival tickets, resulting in the grossest public stunt we’ve seen this year.
THERE are those who enjoy a good music festival, and then there are these people.
One woman proved just how much she loves the festival scene in an attempt to win free tickets to Mysteryland EDM Festival in an on-air giveaway.
Chilean radio station Top 40 held a contest asking listeners what outrageous thing they would do to score tickets to the festival. The lucky (?) winner, who promised she would do “actual anything, up to and including licking whipped cream out of a human anus”, ended up doing just that — right out of DJ Paul Hip’s rear end.
It gets worse. Other listeners were then invited to make out with the winner to secure tickets of their own.
Top 40 even tweeted a photo of the on-air stunt — before thinking better of it and quickly deleting the tweet. Too bad it had already spread like wildfire by grossed-out listeners.
The station was forced to issue a public apology “to all the people that were offended for the image published.”
The official statement reads: “We want to clarify that the challenge done by our listener was absolutely voluntary and proposed by her, as part of a contest that was open to anyone who wanted to take part of it.
“Also, we are sorry for our mistake in accepting that challenge. We hope that you understand that this was during a playful context and there wasn’t bad intentions, and intention to offend or denigrate our audience.”
The photo has since ended up on the official Mysteryland website, which automatically pulls in tweets about the event.
Moral of the story here? Stupid public stunts rarely go to plan, and when you post evidence of it on the internet, good luck trying to make it go away.
