Tommy Little, Nova radio host, details failed attempt at ‘I love you’ on air

AN Aussie radio host has revealed a hilarious story of the night he stumbled home at 3am and climbed into bed with his new love interest. Think we’ve all been there? Think again.

YOU’VE got to hand it to Tommy Little, he gave it a red hot go.

But unfortunately the Nova radio co-host’s attempt at ‘I love you’ was a total fizzer.

Was it the 3am entrance into said lady’s apartment?

Was it the consumption of copious amounts of Coopers Pale Ale for extra courage?

Perhaps that those three little words followed a somewhat heavily slurred, “by the way, I’m not in love with you.”

Or, was it fact that he decided to spill the beans on radio the following day?

Answer: D — all of the above.

We’re guessing it was one of the few times his new lady didn’t find her comedian beau quite so funny.

Little, who hosts Meshel & Tommy on Nova 100 with Meshel Laurie, detailed the events of the night, or what he was able to recall, during a radio segment and announced his plan of attack.

“What I’m going to do is, I’m going to pretend to be asleep and talk more to apologise for anything that I may say in my sleep,” he said. Failing that, he plans to “leave the country”.

Meshel Laurie could only laugh at her radio co-host’s awkward dating faux pas.

We spoke to the 29-year-old funny man (who, for the record is still feeling mildly sheepish) about his “spot of bother”.

To clarify, Little says the mystery woman isn’t his girlfriend but is a love interest. He did mention that he often falls in love “about four times a day”, adding “you just have to buy me a coffee and I’m in love.”

He also admitted on this particular occasion, he’d had enough celebratory booze to “sink a small nation.”

So, what did we learn? “I now know not to tell anyone anything serious when you’re under the influence.”

His excuse? “I was actually asleep. I sleep talk all the time, so that’s how I’m going to play it.”

Tommy Little is seeing the lucky lady tonight — fingers crossed she doesn’t buy him a coffee.

Nope, your gangster-themed mugs won’t fix this either.
