Tim Blackwell spills on his worst celebrity interview

Nova’s Tim Blackwell was less than impressed when he sat down with one of the world’s most famous singers for a one-on-one interview.

Aussie radio star Tim Blackwell has revealed which famous singer was one of his most disappointing celebrity interviews.

Blackwell, who co-hosts Nova’s national FM drive show alongside Joel Creasey and Ricki-Lee Coulter, spilled the beans to news.com.au during an episode of Shock Jocks.

In the episode, Blackwell was given some tough questions and had the choice of either answering them or passing on them and receiving a hefty electric shock as a penalty (you can watch it in the video player above).

When asked to name which famous person he had least enjoyed meeting during his radio career, Blackwell chose to answer rather than getting a shock.

“Well this is going to sound weird, because it was Rihanna,” he said.

The broadcaster explained that he first met the Barbadian singer in the mid-2000s when she was promoting her song, Pon de Replay.

“She came into the studio, she would have been like 17 or something, and she did the interview with me and she was kind of like this (see photo below),” Blackwell said.

“She was talking really low and giving me one-word answers.

“Anyway, we got up (at the end) and no joke, I turned to my producer and said, ‘last we’ll see of her!’” Blackwell laughed.

Rihanna has obviously gone on to have a hugely successful career, winning nine Grammy Awards, performing at this year’s Super Bowl, and setting up her own makeup company called Fenty Beauty which has made her a billionaire.

Blackwell’s career has also been bloody impressive.

He has dominated afternoon radio for years with the Ricki-Lee, Tim & Joel show currently the number one drive show in the country.

During Shock Jocks, Blackwell was asked to list his co-hosts’ most annoying habits, and he didn’t hesitate to answer.

“The most annoying thing about him (Joel Creasey) is that he’s the nicest human being in the world,” he said.

“He would probably hate that, because his act is that he’s catty and a bit bitchy, but he’s so nice, so generous, he’s an actual sweetheart.”

As for Ricki-Lee’s most annoying habit, Blackwell said: “She’s like the female version of me, except I can’t sing.

“She’s a bit of a control freak, she knows what she wants, she’s very vocal, she’s very powerful, she’s got her own ideas … so I think we’re too similar.”

You can hear the Ricki-Lee, Tim & Joel show from 4-6pm weekdays on Nova FM
