Shane Warne snubs Nova FM radio host inside Club 23

SHANE Warne is clearly not a fan of Nova FM’s Marty Sheargold. The cricket legend barred the radio host from a private party last week.

SHANE Warne has responded to the hoo-ha regarding his run-in with Nova FM’s Marty Sheargold at Crown Casino last Friday night.

“Clarity, private function with my @888poker team, 2 guys asked to come in, didn’t know them, easy no ! What’s the problem,” he said on Twitter.

Radio veteran Sheargold had co-hosts Kate Ritchie and Tim Blackwell in stitches yesterday as he told them about the incident with the cricketing legend.

“We’ve seen Warnie earlier in the night walk past with a cigarette behind his ear and I thought, ‘This is why everyone thinks you’re a d**k mate, when you walk through a casino with a cigarette behind your ear,’” said Sheargold on air.

The Nova FM personality and his friend saw Warnie again a bit later in the night when they entered Club 23 in Melbourne’s Crown Casino and spotted the cricketer partying in a private roped off area.

“There’s a tiny little bar there and there’s access to a deck where Warnie SHOULD have be smoking but he chose to smoke in his own venue,” said Sheargold.

“Warnie’s in that roped off area with two other guys and it’s a pretty big area to rope off just for the three of you. So me and the bloke I was there with, Luttsy, went over and introduced ourselves to the guy on the rope.

“I said ... ‘We work for Nova, we’d love to come through and meet Warnie.’

According to Sheargold, the security guard went over to Shane Warne and told him about the request.

“Then Warnie looks straight at me and Luttsy and he goes, ‘No,’” said Sheargold, much to the delight of his co-hosts.

“Are you kidding me?” said Kate Ritchie.

But Sheargold had the last laugh when he snuck into the private area a bit later in the evening.
