Scott Morrison grilled in chaotic interview on the Kyle and Jackie O show

Scott Morrison has been grilled about China, smoking joints, Vladimir Putin and Jesus in a chaotic interview on the Kyle and Jackie O show.

Scott Morrison being ‘so normal’ made his enemies ‘absolutely furious’

Former Prime Minister Scott Morrison has declined to smoke a marijuana joint and discussed China’s plans to “invade Taiwan” in a chaotic interview on the Kyle and Jackie O show.

In the bizarre radio segment to spruik his new book, Plans For Your Good, Mr Morrison offered his unplugged views on Chinese President Xi Jinping.

“They want to be the dominant powerful force in our part of the world,’’ Mr Morrison said.

“They want to invade Taiwan and take it over. And they want to rule the world ...their part of it anyway with their regime and which denies people liberty and that’s something that you know, Australians will never accept.”

“I should say the Communist Party of China, not Chinese, right? Chinese people are amazing.”

Radio host Kyle Sandilands then asked if the former PM had “heard anything” and if there was “any chance Australia could be invaded by China in the next ten years.”

“In 2027 Xi Jinping wants to have the capability to take Taiwan by force and have the military capability to do so,’’ Mr Morrison replied.

“Now, doesn’t mean he’s going to do it. (But) they are his own words. And that’s why everything we did as a government and continues now, what we do with the Americans, what we do with the Japanese, the Koreans, I was just up there last week talking to them, is all designed to try and check that.”

“That’s what will keep the peace.”

Vladimir Putin and the “equine stuff”

The former PM was also asked about his interactions with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Mr Morrison responded by referencing the infamous photos of Vladimir Putin topless on a horse.

“We kept our shirts on and didn’t do any of the equine stuff,’’ he said.

“He was probably the most chilling person I met. He was just a cold sort of guy.”

AFP organises car park for the Morrisons to Taylor Swift

Mr Morrison also revealed that he is still offered security advice and protection from the AFP even after leaving politics, revealing police helped protect his family when they went out for a Taylor Swift concert in February.

“From time to time if there’s big crowds the AFP still supports me,’’ he said.

“We went out toTaylor Swift as a family. We’ve been to all the concerts, and we had a wonderful time.”

Mr Morrison said while he drove the family car to the event the AFP organised the car park.

“Well the AFP secured one for us. Big crowds, you know, they just take precaution.”

“Pipe down with the Jesus stuff”

Mr Morrison also discussed his “belief in Jesus Christ” and prayer on the program as he suggested his new book Plans For Your Good, was “flying off the shelves”.

“It’s from Jeremiah Chapter 29, Verse 11,’’ Mr Morrison explained. “In the Bible, Jesus, it’s a promise that God makes to all of us that he has plans for our good.”

“Oh it’s more Jesus stuff,’’ Kyle replied.

“Did you hear the exorcism people on here? They were Jesus types... they were getting rid of all the demons,’’ Sandilands said. “They’ve come to the right place.”

“They would have had their work cut out from them,’’ Mr Morrison replied.

“Did anyone ever say in the political world ‘pipe down on the Jesus’,’’ Sandilands asked.

Mr Morrison replied that he tried to keep the issues separate.

“I knew I wasn’t elected to be the country’s Pope (I was elected) to be the prime minister,’’ he said.

“And the people often I found most support from when I talked about my faith were not just Christians though, they were Hindus or Buddhists, or Muslims.”

Sandilands then asked if “God was there when you played the banjo on 60 Minutes.”

Mr Morrison said he believed God was “certainly there and you know the 14 years we struggled to have children, and he sustained me (and) Jenny.”

PM says asked about marijuana for anxiety

The conversation then turned to Mr Morrison taking medication for anxiety.

“Very honest this book. Not far in, you are pretty honest about saying you are actually medicated for anxiety and depression, whilst serving as the Prime Minister,’’ Sandilands said.

Mr Morrison was quick to correct him that he didn’t suffer depression but anxiety.

The former Prime Minister said it wasn’t the “issues” that made him anxious but the “brutality of politics.”

“What was different though, was the physical exhaustion combined with what was a pretty torrid political pile on and character assassinations and personal attacks,’’ he said.

“It’s the brutality of politics.”

“Did he offer marijuana? Because if you want a gummy bro it all disappears,’’ Sandliands said.

“You will never share a joint with me just, you know, chilling...?”

Mr Morrison said he wasn’t interested in going down that path.

“Well, you do you and I will do me,’’ Sandilands replied.

Ex PM’s high blood pressure

Mr Morrison also revealed that he suffered from high blood pressure.

“I also had blood pressure issues but I’ve always had those. It’s hereditary,’’ he said.

However, Mr Morrisson said his GP identified he was suffering from anxiety and prescribed medication. He claims it was “preventative”.

He suggested his symptoms included insomnia and suggested his anxiety was a “dark fog.”
