Radio hosts Dan and Maz shocked by Warwick Capper’s outrageous appearance fee

“ARE you joking?”
That was the reaction from 2Day FM’s Maz Compton when she heard how much former AFL player Warwick Capper wanted (in cash) to appear at their upcoming event, The Aussiest Party Ever.
The Dan and Maz show are throwing a barefoot party on January 23 at the Bondi Bowling Club to kickstart the Australia Day long weekend and have spent the last week locking in celebrity guests to attend and mingle with their listeners.
But they were shocked when they received an email from Capper asking for $3,000 in cash plus flights and accommodation to guarantee his attendance.
“Are you joking?” said Maz on air this morning, “He doesn’t have to do anything!”
“I’m going to point something out right now,” said co-host Dan Debuf, “No one has asked for money.
“Peking Duck, doing it for free. Preatures, doing it for free. Stafford Brothers, doing it for free.”
The hosts then called the former Sydney Swans player and gave him a chance to justify his fee.
“You pay for quality mate,” said the Gold Coast based Capper.
The 51-year-old then explained exactly what the radio hosts could expect from him if they coughed up the $3,000.
“I’m worth every cent,” he said.
“I’ll stay an extra couple of hours for ya. I’ll get on stage and sing my number one song … and then I’m going to re-enact the mark of the century for you.”
The hosts of 2Day FM’s new breakfast show put it out to their listeners and asked them to decide if they should pay for Capper’s attendance.
Their response was a resounding no.
Better luck next time Waz!
