Radio host Ben Fordham and former TV chef Pete Evans are at each other’s throats again as the two television personalities engage in an ongoing bitter war of words.

The fight kicked off this week after Evansclaimed Dr Harry Nespolon, the late Royal Australian College of General Practitioners president, could’ve been cured of cancer if he’d embraced alternative treatments.

Fordham called the comments “deeply offensive” on his 2GB radio show on Tuesday and labelled Evans an “intellectual thickshake”.

Evans, a former judge on Channel 7’s hit cooking show My Kitchen Rules, took to Instagram yesterday to issue a rebuttal.

In his post, Evans compared Fordham to former A Current Affair reporter Ben McCormack, who pleaded guilty to child pornography offences in 2017.

“Both of these people worked for A Current Affair at Channel 9 and now both have either done a story on me or ridiculed me on their respective programs,” Evans wrote.

“I promote organic food, and a healthy long term sustainable lifestyle. Interesting to witness how mainstream media employs only the best to report stories don’t you think?”

Fordham was convicted of illegally recording a private conversation with a former Waverley Mayor in 2008.

And now Fordham has again responded to Evans, calling on the former celebrity chef to “get help”.

“You may remember that once upon a time Pete Evans was fine and normal. He had a job on TV but then Channel 7 decided they did not want a bar of him. They are happy to employ Schapelle Corby but not Pete Evans,” Fordham said on his 2GB broadcast this morning.

Corby, a convicted drug smuggler, this week appeared on two episodes of Channel 7’s new, gruelling reality show SAS Australia.

“I’m here to make it clear that you were rattled by the (my) criticism. That’s why you’ve gone on a Facebook spree,” Fordham said, referring to Evans’ post.

“But you need to listen up. I’m worried. I’m no medical expert, but as you know, that should not rule me out from giving some medical advice because it has never stopped you.

“I think you need some help, I think you might be suffering from severe anxiety. That’s why you are attacking dead people. That’s why you are posting bizarre comparisons on Facebook. So take a chill pill Pete – then again you probably believe in conspiracy theories about chill pills.”

“But if you must continue with your attacks … focus on me, and leave the dead man alone.”
