HE’S one of the most controversial personalities in Australia, but Kyle Sandilands says he couldn’t care less what people think of him.

The KIIS FM breakfast host told news.com.au’s On The Couch with Melissa Hoyer that he ignores the majority of criticism about himself personally, but draws the line when the media start talking unfairly about those he cares about.

“I don’t really mind what they say about me,” Sandilands said, “but if it’s something that’s offensive or rude or not true, about friends, girlfriends, work colleagues, parents, when it affects a third party that’s when I get worried. I don’t care what they say about me.”

However his radio partner Jackie O, says she takes criticism a little more personally than Kyle.

In 2011, the now 40-year-old was embroiled in controversy when she was photographed feeding her baby daughter Kitty while dangling in her arms as she crossed the road.

The move was described as “dangerous” and “irresponsible”.

“When that journalist printed that photo and made some comments,” Jackie O said, “that didn’t cut me as much as the next day when she followed it up with saying that I had gone back to work too early after having a baby. I think when those kind of comments are made it definitely does hurt you.

“Mums face this kind of guilt every day we don’t need someone else putting that on us because trust me we put it on our own selves daily.”
