Shock jock Kyle Sandilands has asked NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian a very intimate question while live on air today.

The NSW Premier deflected on Friday when she was asked a private question by a radio shock jock.

Kyle Sandilands of the Kyle and Jackie O radio show asked Gladys Berejiklian: “Have you taken another lover yet?”

The Premier responded ”Oh please …” before asking Mr Sandilands’ co-host: “Jackie, is he always like this with all the guests?”

“Can we just move onto matters of state now?” she continued.

Ms Berejiklian, known as a guarded and private politician, has fielded awkward questions on the KIIS 1065 show before.

Last year, after her love life had become the subject of intense scrutiny following revelations she’d maintained a secret relationship with an MP accused of corruption, Mr Sandilands asked her a range of intimate questions that were panned as “cringeworthy” in subsequent media coverage.

The acknowledgment during a live-streamed hearing before the Independent Commission Against Corruption in October last year that Ms Berejiklian had been in a five-year relationship with former Wagga Wagga MP Daryl Maguire rocked the NSW political scene and put the Premier’s personal life in the spotlight.

The Premier’s integrity was called into question by opposition MPs over the fact the relationship was kept secret and that it continued long after Mr Maguire had resigned from parliament in disgrace.

Ms Berejiklian did a number of interviews about her personal life in the wake of the revelations, telling reporters she had been in love with Mr Maguire, but that the relationship had not been of “sufficient status” to disclose.

The ICAC inquiry into Mr Maguire where Ms Berejiklian appeared as a witness in October continues.

Ms Berejiklian has not been accused of wrongdoing and has repeatedly said she did nothing wrong in regards to her relationship with Mr Maguire.

In December, the commission declared it was taking “further investigative steps” in the Maguire matter, and last month, the Australian newspaper reported the ICAC had asked for documents from members of Ms Berejiklian’s cabinet.
