WOG Boys star Nick Giannopoulos has posted claims of a long-running feud with popular broadcaster Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald.
Giannopoulos alleged on Facebook tonight: “Fitzy on (radio station) NOVA, for the last few years, has had an ongoing campaign to humiliate and degrade me at every opportunity he has had while on air.
“Today, he did so again and really overstepped the line in certain insinuations he made about me and my good friend Aussie legend Molly Meldrum.
“He also spoke about me and an interview we did together in Adelaide in 2010. Well, here’s my side of the story and the real truth about what actually happened that day.
“I was in town promoting the release of (the film) Kings Of Mykonos and was asked, and agreed, to do Fitzy’s show, as at the time I really liked the bloke.
“Off air, before the interview their producer asked me if I would participate in a live stunt on air whereby different people would call up and I would try and guess if they were wogs or not.
“I refused, as I thought it was one of the dumbest things I’d ever heard.
“Well, about 10 minutes later, when it came time to do the interview, Fitzy pretty much attacked me … got very aggressive.
“To say I had never been treated with so much disrespect before live on radio would be an understatement. I was kinda in shock and tried the best I could under the circumstances not to completely lose it.
“In the ensuing years, Fitzy has decided to continue his hate campaign against me,” Giannopoulos claimed in his online post.
“I have kept quiet and never spoken about it. But today I have decided enough is enough.”
At the ASTRA Awards in Sydney, where his show The Recruit won best reality program, Fitzgerald told Confidential: “I’ve been told Nick said some things on social media. I need to check it out.
“I interviewed him in Adelaide a few years ago and haven’t seen him since.
Fitzgerald added: “I never knew there was a problem. It’s all good from my end.”
Giannopoulos has been prolific on Facebook lately. Earlier this week, he complained about being asked to step aside on Toorak Rd for Canadian rapper Drake.
