Neil Mitchell comes in second behind rival Jon Faine in radio ratings

IN a strange radio ratings survey, Neil Mitchell on 3AW was beaten by his long time rival Jon Faine on ABC 774.

JON Faine is now beating Neil Mitchell in the radio ratings after the latest survey was released this morning.

It was a strange survey across the board for 3AW, however the station is still the most listened to in Melbourne with a 13.7 share.

Mitchell on 3AW mornings went from a 16.8 to a 12.7 share, while Faine on ABC774 rose from 12.4 to a 15.0 share.

In other radio ratings news:

EDDIE McGuire’s Hot Breakfast is still the No. 1 FM breakfast show. The Triple M show has a 9.2 share, compared to 6.3 for both Brigitte and Lehmo on Gold FM and Tommy Little and Meshel Laurie on Nova 100. Matt Tilley and Jane Hall on KIIS have a 5.9 share, and Fifi Box and Dave Thornton next with a 5.8 share. Smooth breakfast with Mike Perso and Jennifer Hansen reading the news is not far behind with a 5.2 share.

ON the AM dial in breakfast, Ross Stevenson and John Burns on 3AW are in top spot with a 19.0 share, with Red Symons on ABC774 well behind with a 14.1 share.

IN drive on the FM dial FOX FM is first with a 8.4 share, Dave Hughes and Kate Langbroek are second with a 8.3 share, Triple M third with 8.0 and Nova’s Kate Ritchie, Tim Blackwell and Marty Sheargold next with a 7.9 share. Hamish Blake and Andy Lee will start on FOX FM next month. Tom Elliot on 3AW is No.1 overall.

TRIPLE M and GOLD FM both had great surveys, equal No. 1 on the FM dial with a 7.9 share. For the first time ever, Smooth FM on a 7.4 share is beating stablemate NOVA 100 who had a 6.3 share.
