Mick Molloy’s humiliating paparazzi pic confession

Mick Molloy has shared an embarrassing anecdote about the one and only time he was photographed by paparazzi in Bondi.

Triple M radio host Mick Molloy has admitted live on air to buying his own paparazzi pics after being snapped ordering a burrito in Bondi.

The comedian, 56, today told listeners of his new morning show, Mick & MG in the Morning, that because there was no interest from news outlets in the photos, he resorted to shelling out the $70 himself.

He then published the photos on his own TV show in order to complain about the “invasion of privacy”.

The embarrassing anecdote left host Mark ‘MG’ Geyer in stitches.

“The one only time I’ve ever really papped I was in Bondi, eating a burrito,” he began.

“It was an invasion of my privacy! It was private moment between a man and a burrito,” he exclaimed, going on to reveal the “saddest bit” of the story.

“Someone from The Daily Telegraph rang me and said this photo is being shopped around … But no one bought it, so for me to show it on the TV show, I had to buy it.

“It was 70 bucks, so I had to buy my own picture of me being papped so I could put it on the telly and say ‘look at this invasion of my privacy’.”

Molloy shared his embarrassing pap story live on air on Monday.

Molloy returns to the radio station this year after announcing his departure in 2021.

In 2022, MG, Jess and Pagey hosted breakfast, but the show was abruptly axed in November, giving listeners a day’s notice.

In a statement confirming Molloy would be returning to the station to step into the morning slot, Southern Cross Austereo said: “Mick and MG in the Morning will bring Triple M listeners a fresh new Breakfast offering but also the familiar voice of Molloy and his legendary radio antics.

“Well-known and respected newsreader Natarsha Belling will join the show as newsreader and will banter with the best of them to keep the boys on their toes.”
