Mick Molloy to host Triple M breakfast in Melbourne in 2025
Mick Molloy is set to leave Triple M Sydney, with the comedian to host a different breakfast show in another city in 2025.
Triple M has announced a radio reshuffle.
Mick Molloy is set to return to Melbourne radio in 2025 after hosting the breakfast show on Triple M Sydney alongside Mark ‘MG’ Geyer for the past two years.
The radio network announced on Friday morning that Molloy will host the Triple M Melbourne’s breakfast show next year alongside Nick Riewoldt, Titus O’Reily and Rosie Walton.
The show will be called Mick in the Morning with Roo, Titus & Rosie, and will launch on January 20, 2025.
“I’m excited to be back behind the mic in my hometown, talking about all things Melbourne, with some of my favourite people every morning,” Molloy said in a statement.
“There’s a fair chance that the (Richmond) Tigers may come up from time to time; what could possibly go wrong?” he added.
One of those “favourite people” Molloy referred to is former AFL champion Nick Riewoldt who has been living in the US for the past few years.
“After two rewarding years in Houston, Texas with Cath’s family, I’m excited to be returning home to Melbourne joining Mick and the Triple M Breakfast team back where it all started for me on radio,” the St Kilda champ said in a statement.
Riewoldt will be a busy boy in 2025. He’s also set to appear on Channel 7’s weekly AFL match broadcasts and a number of midweek footy TV programs.
Who currently hosts the Triple M breakfast show in Melbourne?
Marty Sheargold was hosting the Triple M breakfast show in Melbourne until July, when he suddenly announced that he had decided to quit.
“I have made the decision to prioritise self-care, maintaining a better work/life balance and will not be returning to my Triple M Breakfast show,” he said in a statement at the time.
“However, I will continue The Marty Sheargold Show podcast, along with the 3-4pm national Triple M show.”
A fill-in show hosted by Wil Anderson, Daisy Thomas and Rosie Walton has been on air since, with that show to wrap up on November 30.
Triple M has not yet announced who will host its breakfast show in Sydney in 2025.
