Kyle Sandilands’ farm raided by RSPCA
KYLE Sandilands’ property in north Sydney has been raided after the shock jock was anonymously “dobbed in” for “mistreating” his animals.
KYLE Sandilands’ property in north Sydney has been raided by the RSPCA after the radio host and his girlfriend were accused of mistreating their animals.
The controversial KIIS 1065 personality, who moved to the hobby farm in Ingleside last year, told listeners on Thursday the property was raided by RSPCA officers after he was “dobbed in” by “some dog rat mongrel”.
It was claimed the animals on the farm were living in “poor standards” and “being mistreated”.
“They’ve come out yesterday, with all the kit on, showed up like the SAS ... They’ve got some good outfits, I tell you,’ he said about the officers.
His shocked co-host Jackie O jumped to his defence.
“What? You are the one person I know who gets up at 4am just so they aren’t cold and they’re being fed,” she said.
“You’ll rework your whole life around those animals.”
Sandilands said the officers came up empty-handed.
“Very nice people ... They said, ‘Well, this is obviously a massive waste of our time and resources,’” he said.
A spokesperson for RSPCA NSW told news.com.au there was no evidence of poor living conditions.
“Every year the RSPCA in New South Wales receives around 15,000 complaints of animal cruelty,” they said in a statement.
“While most of these don’t amount to a breach of the Prevention of Cruelty To Animals Act, they must all be investigated.
“When the RSPCA inspected Mr Sandilands property following a complaint no animal welfare concerns were found.”
Sandilands regularly talks about his new farm life on The Kyle & Jackie O Show after making the tree-change from his St Ives mansion in October last year.
His girlfriend, Imogen Anthony, regularly shows off their animals — which include horses, chickens and a bull — on Instagram.
