Kyle Sandilands falls for Presidential prank on KIIS FM

KYLE Sandilands thought he had made radio history when he stumbled upon President Obama’s private phone number.

“WHAT a fat fool I am!”

Kyle Sandilands was humiliated on air this morning after falling for a prank set up by his KIIS FM co-host, Jackie O.

The radio star actually believed that he’d just interviewed US President Barack Obama but he was devastated (and more than a little embarrassed) to discover it was just an impersonator.

“We actually didn’t think you would believe it,” said Jackie O, who started planning the prank weeks ago.

“We recently had a certain guest on the show who has White House connections. Yesterday we said, ‘oh look the publicist for this particular guest has left their email chain accidentally for us to see’ and on it ... it had POTUS’ private line, which you know stands for President Of the United States.”

Kyle fell for it hook, line and sinker and the radio duo raced into the studio to call the number.

After a couple of rings, the President answered, or at least that’s what Kyle thought.

“I didn’t even expect anyone to answer, let alone answer sounding like Obama,” he said this morning.

“I freaked. My stomach was straight in my mouth. I didn’t even know what to say, and that’s never happened.”

The impersonator was absolutely flawless and started off the call with the same amount of confusion that the real Obama probably would if he ever received a call from a couple of Aussie radio hosts.

The fake Obama reluctantly agreed to an interview before an audibly flustered Kyle served up such gems as, “All we wanted to say quickly is [you’re the] best president ever lived,” and “We love the pimp mobile ... what’s that thing called, the President’s car, what do you call that?”

The conversation took a rather hilarious turn when Jackie O revealed some ‘personal’ details about Kyle to the President, leaving the shock jock mortified.

“We’re a very honest show,” said Jackie O, “We talk about things like Kyle pooing himself”.

“That’s not on,” responded Kyle, “I could really bury you, Jackie, right now”.

Kyle ended the interview by thanking Obama on behalf of humanity, saying, “Great job on looking out for the rest of the world as well, we really appreciate it”.

But after hanging up, the paranoia set in.

“The FBI will be here in about 10 minutes I reckon,” he said to Jackie O and show producers.

“You know the CIA was listening to that. All hell could be breaking loose.”

After Kyle excitedly ran around the KIIS FM office telling executives and staff that he’d just interviewed Barack Obama, Jackie O summoned him back to the studio to put him out of his misery.

“I started to feel a little bit guilty,” she said on air this morning.

“We weren’t planning on telling you until on air but I said we’re going to have to tell him now because he’s telling everyone we got the President.”

And poor Kyle was heartbroken.

“Why would you do that?” he said.

“What a fat fool I am.”
