Kate Ritchie ‘flirts’ with potential suitor as they plan date live on air: ‘He’s got it all’

Kate Ritchie couldn’t resist flirting live on air with a man she’s set to enjoy a romantic evening with later this week.

Kate Ritchie seems determined to put herself out there in a bid to find a new man, and she may have just found one.

The Nova host has been very open about navigating single life in recent months, and her radio co-stars are hopeful that they may have just found her the dream man.

On Thursday night, Fitzy Wippa and Kate will be playing matchmaker and inviting listeners along on air to a Singles Ball … but Ritchie won’t be going alone.

On Tuesday morning’s show, the radio presenter chose from three eligible bachelors who had been cherry-picked by her co-stars while live on air.

Jordan, John and Will all had to impress Ritchie before she decided which lucky guy would be bestowed with the honour. She eventually chose 30-year-old Will from Waverton, an Investment Advisor – who Wippa joked is probably still too old for his co-star.

“Okay, well, you know what? In the spirit of love, and in the spirit of bringing single people all over Sydney together to hopefully have a wonderful life together, even just for a matter of hours, I would like to have the first dance at the Gilli rooftop with Will from Waverton,” said Ritchie. “I won’t take up too much of your time on the night. We could just have a little quick dance and then …”

Will then interjected, saying: “Nah you can take as much time as you want … I don’t mind at all!”

“I’m all about personality and Will’s got it all! But Will, you’d better not look better than me!” laughed Ritchie, to which her date replied: “That’s impossible!”

“Stop flirting you two,” teased Wippa.

Ritchie married then-NRL star Stuart Webb in a luxurious ceremony at the Quamby Estate in Tasmania in 2010, one year after they got engaged. They welcomed daughter Mae in 2014.

The couple sadly split, ending their nine-year marriage in 2020.

Since then, Ritchie’s dating life has been a hot topic of conversation among her co-stars on their popular radio show.

Last month, the radio personality addressed rumours that she was “crushing” on Australian Formula 1 racing star Daniel Ricciardo, 34.

Speculation mounted about the “chemistry” between Ricciardo and Ritchie at the recent Melbourne Grand Prix, despite the former being in a relationship with actress Heidi Berger.

“This is the best fiction I’ve ever read,” she said at the time, poking fun at the rumours.
