Kanye West breaks down in radio interview
KANYE West has broken down in tears during a radio interview. What got him so upset?
KANYE West has shown a rare emotional side and broken down in a radio interview.
Talking to BBC Radio 1, he was left in tears after talking about his mentor and fashion professor Louise Wilson, who died last year.
Calling her the “greatest fashion instructor of all time”, he opened up about the last time he saw her.
“We had dinner at Hakkasan, which is my favourite restaurant in London,” he said.
“And I think she knew that she was going to pass, and she just wanted to give me some words of advice moving forward, and she was asking me about my daughter, asked me about my wife ... and she said, you know, ‘So many students, they don’t give it their all, and the problem is, soon as they do anything halfway good when they’re two-years-old, three-years-old, their parents clap.’”
That’s when she gave him advice for how to get the best out of his daughter North.
“ ... She just looked at me and she said, ‘Kanye, don’t clap.’”
Soon after, he choked up, covered his eyes with his hands and began crying.
He then left the studio to compose himself.
When he returned, he admitted: “That’s never happened to me in an interview before ... I think I’m good.”
Wilson is credited with training a number of top fashion designers including Stella McCartney and Alexander McQueen.
Kanye’s been trying to make a name for himself in the fashion world — and recently released a line for Adidas.
And it seems he was left feeling a little clear-headed after the interview.
He’s since taken to Twitter to apologise to Bruno Mars - and offered him a job.
I also want to publicly apologize to Bruno Mars, I used to hate on him but I really respect what he does as an artist.
