Jo Stanley reveals she hooked up with Rove in the ‘90s

JO Stanley confessed she hooked up with Rove in the ‘90s, only for the TV star to tell her the next morning he wasn’t interested in exchanging numbers.

JO STANLEY has revealed that she had a one-night stand with Rove McManus back in the ‘90s.

The GOLD FM star and her co-host Anthony “Lehmo” Lehmann were discussing the brutal way in which the Bacheloretteended her relationship with Courtney on last night’s episode when Stanley said she had a similar story.

“I had a very brief, one-night interlude ... with Rove McManus,” she said.

“It was before he was on telly and we were all doing stand-up, back in the heyday, when your only worries were if you’d get a laugh that night …. and who you might spend the rest of the evening with.”

But things got a little awkward the morning after the hook-up when Stanley tried to determine if Rove was interested in catching up again.

“I felt like would be the polite thing to do to exchange numbers, because that’s what you do right?” Stanley said.

“So I’ve gone, ‘do you wanna exchange numbers?’ and he says, ‘Oh, nup’. And I can’t tell you how relieved I was! I was like ‘oh, thank god’ because I really didn’t want to pretend and I really, I just respected that. I was like, ‘yeah, good on you, I’m really happy with that honesty’.”

Stanley is now happily married to Darren McFarlane and the couple have a daughter called Willow.

Rove is married to actress Tasma Walton and the couple have a two-year-old daughter called Ruby.

Rove currently hosts the 2Day FM breakfast show with Sam Frost.
