Jackie ‘O’ Henderson addresses weight loss rumours after parting ways with WW

Radio host Jackie O hits back at her critics who still refuse to believe she lost weight through old fashioned diet and exercise.

Jackie “O” Henderson has once again addressed rumours she resorted to drugs and surgery to achieve her weight loss goals.

Since embarking on her lifestyle overhaul late last year and dropping 18kg, the radio host has been accused of using either the diabetic drug Ozempic – known for its rapid weight loss effects – or having gastric band surgery.

This morning on The Kyle & Jackie O Show, the 48-year-old again hit back at her critics amid news she is parting ways with WW (formerly Weight Watchers) after hitting her milestones.

“They’ve helped me and now we’ve achieved the goal,” Henderson told co-host Kyle Sandilands, who called it a “success story”.

“It was great working with them, it really was.”

But she said that despite being open about her affiliation with WW, many still thought she was lying about how she got the kilos off.

“I can’t really defend myself anymore beyond what I have,” she said on air. “If people want to believe I’ve had surgery or I’m taking Ozempic, well just go ahead and think that. That’s fine. But I haven’t so I can’t say it anymore than I have.”

Henderson said her haters have left comments on her social media but she’s not bothered replying or deleting the mean remarks.

“I just let them have their vent and whatever they think, they think,” she added. “I’m not changing their minds, clearly. But I do appreciate the people who do defend it on my behalf because I don’t want to get involved otherwise it makes it worse.”

Henderson explained she changed her lifestyle and lost weight from sheer willpower after something just “clicked” for her.

“I had a completely different lifestyle. I don’t know why people don’t want to believe it but that’s fine,” she said, to which Sandilands wondered if people believe it because they don’t have the willpower to lose weight themselves.

“I didn’t have the willpower, either,” replied Henderson. “I think if you’ve ever been on diets and things, you just know there comes a time where you click and you’re motivated and it’s so hard to get that motivation for years and it still just didn’t click for me.

“And this time it did and I can’t explain why but it did. I just had that motivation.”

As Sandilands joked that she was now “rootable”, Henderson said it was never about the bikini body.

“I didn’t do it for bikini bod status,” she said. “I just wanted to feel good about myself.”
