The Roseanne star was at a Hollywood party recently when he spotted Kristen Wiig, who he’s a massive fan of.

But it wasn’t the dream introduction he’d hoped it would be.

“She was talking to somebody else, and I was just ... I think she’s so great, and the social barriers broke down and I interrupted the conversation,” the 63-year-old said on The Howard Stern Show.

“And I would just hate for somebody to do that to me. And she goes, ‘Yeah, I’ll talk to you in a minute’.”

Making the sound of a bomb going off, he continued: “It was like the Atom. I shrunk down to Atom size. ... I really like her, and it was embarrassing, so I’ll never speak to her again.”

Perhaps the 42-year-old funny lady just didn’t recognise the actor. After all, he’s hosted Saturday Night Live (Wiig’s old stomping ground) 13 times.

But it seems Goodman doesn’t really fit in well with A-list crowds.

Later in the chat, he told Stern about the time he tried hanging out with his Monuments Men co-stars George Clooney and Matt Damon.

“I tried to hang with them, but Matt and George would always have these conversations, and they’d go out for cocktails afterwards,” Goodman said. “I don’t really drink, and I don’t bring a lot to that party because they’re super A-level guys.”
