Daniel MacPherson auditioned for the role of Christian Grey in ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’
DANIEL MacPherson has been auditioning for some big movie roles in an attempt to break into the US market. Which famous films has he been knocked back from?
DANIEL MacPherson has revealed that he auditioned for the lead role in Fifty Shades of Grey.
Speaking to Nova FM’s Fitzy and Wippa, the 35-year-old star said he’s tried out for a number of big movie roles in Hollywood.
“I went up for Christian Grey in Fifty Shades,” he said on air this morning.
“I think every guy in the world went for that role.”
The former Neighbours star joked that instead of a proper audition, he just showed the film’s producers some homemade videos on his phone.
The role of Christian Grey in the saucy film was eventually played by Jamie Dornan after Sons of Anarchy star Charlie Hunnam originally accepted the role and then quit.
British Dolce & Gabbana hunk David Gandy has also said that he was offered the role but turned it down.
Aussie star Daniel MacPherson, who became engaged to long-time girlfriend Zoe Ventoura in December last year, is trying desperately to get his big break in the US.
He recently announced that he won’t be returning as host of Channel 7’s Dancing With The Stars.
“I’ve done my seven series, and I’ve loved it, but it’s time now to focus on my acting,” Macpherson told TV Week magazine earlier this week.
