Brynne Edelsten story about Shane Warne doesn’t seem to add up

BRYNNE Edelsten claimed on radio this morning that she didn’t sell her story about Shane Warne to Woman’s Day. But there seems to be some confusion.

BRYNNE Edelsten this morning spoke to Kyle and Jackie O on Kiis FM in an attempt to set the record straight about her night with Shane Warne.

On May 13 the cricket legend took to Facebook to accuse Edelsten, 33, of setting him up by arranging for a paparazzo to be ready and waiting when Warne arrived at her apartment for a “nightcap” after a charity function.

In the most recent edition of Woman’s Day, which was released on May 11, Edelsten denied the accusation and hit back by saying: “It’s sad that Shane has chosen to respond in this fashion. I used to have a huge crush on him ...”

But Edelsten claimed on radio this morning that she had never spoken to the magazine about the incident.

“So you didn’t speak to Woman’s Day at all?” asked Jackie O.

“No, I haven’t spoken to anyone,” replied Edelsten.

The socialite then blamed a friend for supplying the magazine with screenshots of her text message exchange with Warne which ran alongside her quotes in the most recent edition.

“How did they get them?” asked Kyle.

“I talked to a few of my friends about what happened,” Edelsten said.

“I believe it was somebody that I trusted, that I confided in, because suddenly there’s two people that I can’t get a hold of.”

But that’s not the case according to Woman’s Day.

“Brynne handed over the copyright to her photos, text messages and quotes to an agency who offered the story to numerous publications,” the magazine’s editor-in-chief, Fiona Connolly, said to news.com.au.

“The agency told us Brynne was working directly with them on the sale. We were the highest bidder and won the rights to publish the package. My understanding is Brynne supplied the story to the agency in response to Shane’s Instagram post.”

News.com.au has reached out to Edelsten but so far has not heard back.
