FORMER Prime Minister Bob Hawke was such a fan of nudity, a former hotel manager has revealed he was forced to ask him to keep his clothes on.

‘Are you feeling as awkward as I am, Mr Hawke?’

THIS would certainly make for an interesting day at the office.

A former hotel manager has revealed he was forced to ask former Prime Minister Bob Hawke to keep his clothes on after he was caught answering his hotel door in the nude. Multiple times.

David, who did not reveal his last name, told WSFM’s Jonesy & Amanda today that Mr Hawke was notorious for answering his door in the buff, forcing the hotel’s female bellperson to refuse delivery of the morning paper.

“Some weeks after he started living there it was brought to my attention that he was answering the door in the nude to get his morning papers,” David said.

“So I had the lovely task of going to have a cup of coffee with him and saying, ‘By the way Bob, would you mind when they bring the papers up in the morning, just putting something on when you come to the door, because the staff don’t really want to see you in that way first thing in the [morning]’.”

Grin and bear it, Bob.

The revelations follow former Treasurer Paul Keating’s admission that Hawke used do sunbathe nude at The Lodge.

“I’d arrive at The Lodge at 10.30 and find Bob sunning himself by the pool,” Mr Keating told an audience at the Australian National University.

“He often used to do this nude. There’s Bob in the nude.

“I did have a few things to say about midgets ... on the occasion, but this is not the occasion for elaborating”.

David didn’t respond to questions surrounding Mr Keating’s sizeable accusations, instead confirming “he was a wonderful person, and still is”.

Even if he was often naked.
