Amanda Keller fires up on air over Scott Morrison ‘secret ministry’ scandal

The radio host fired up over former prime minister Scott Morrison’s “very odd” actions in a furious on-air spray this morning.

Amanda Keller has weighed in on Scott Morrison’s “secret ministry” scandal in a furious on-air spray, labelling the former prime minister as “cynical”.

Mr Morrison has come under fire amid revelations he secretly appointed himself as Minister to a number of portfolios while his government was in office.

PM Anthony Albanese has revealed Mr Morrison held five additional portfolios between March 2020 in May 2021 during his time as Prime Minister.

The new bombshell allegations state Mr Morrison appointed himself to administer the following departments, in a move that was not publicly announced:

– The Department of Health on March 14, 2020

– The Department of Finance on March 30, 2020

– The Department of Home Affairs May 6, 2021

– The Department of the Treasury on Mat 6, 2021

– the Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources on April l5, 2021

Addressing the scandal on The Jonesy and Amanda Showon WSFM 101.7 this morning, Keller described his actions as “very odd”.

“Does it mean that he didn’t trust his own cabinet? Was he micromanaging? Was he power-hungry? What does it mean?” she asked co-host Brendan “Jonesy” Jones, who agreed it was like “a sketch”.

Mr Morrison broke his silence on the matter on Monday, texting Sky News journalist Kieran Gilbert to say he doesn’t “engage in day-to-day politics”.

“For him to say he hasn’t engaged in day-to-day politics … he is still drawing over $200,000 plus a whole lot of benefits to be the Member for Cook, he is still a member of the House of Representatives, he is still a working politician,” Keller pointed out.

“He could have left politics, he’s chosen not to. Remember, he also said when he went to Margaret Court’s church, ‘don’t trust in governments’ … Well, mate, you were our Prime Minister. How cynical. If you don’t wanna be there, don’t be there. Talk about ‘quiet quitting’.”

Revelations emerged over the weekend via the new book Plagued, that in March of 2020, Mr Morrison was sworn in as a second health Minister and second finance Minister, and that former health Minister Greg Hunt had been briefed on the changes, but former finance Minister Mathias Cormann was not.

News.com.au revealed on Sunday that he’d also sworn himself in as resources Minister without the knowledge of the existing Minister, Keith Pitt.
