ACRAs 2023: Jackie O stuns on red carpet at radio awards

Jackie O, arguably Australia’s most talked about radio star, stole the show as she hit the red carpet for the ACRAs in Sydney.

Jackie O is having a moment.

She’s been at the top of her game on radio for more than 20 years (The Kyle and Jackie O Show is currently the number one FM breakfast show in Sydney), but her star status has reached a whole new level in 2023.

The KIIS FM host has dominated headlines this year by launching her own side hustle called ‘Besties’, which will kick off in style later this month with an event in Sydney starring Gwyneth Paltrow.

Then there’s also been the rumours that Jackie and her longtime co-host, Kyle Sandilands, are set to sign the most lucrative contract in Australian media history, worth a reported $200 million over 10 years.

Jackie’s stellar run continued on Saturday night in Sydney as she stole the show on the red carpet at the ACRAs, which is the radio equivalent of TV’s Logies.

“This has been such a big year for me,” Jackie told news.com.au on the red carpet.

“I feel like for once I’m having this year where I can look back and go, ‘2023 was so much fun and so much happened’, so I do feel that good energy around me,” she said.

At last year’s ACRAs, Kyle and Jackie O were inducted into the radio Hall of Fame and took home the night’s top award, Best FM On-Air Team.

This year, the duo were once again nominated for the top gong alongside WSFM’s Jonesy and Amanda, Nova’s Ricki-Lee, Tim and Joel, Gold 104.3’s The Christian O’Connell Show, and Nova Perth’s Nathan, Nat and Shaun (here’s our full list of all the winners).

1000 guests attended this year’s ACRAs, which are typically MUCH wilder than the Logies.

“It’s not broadcast so we can be a lot more loose here,” Jackie O told news.com.au about the annual event.

When asked which stars typically party the hardest, Jackie didn’t hesitate: “Usually the Nova drive crew with Joel Creasey and Tim Blackwell. You can always guarantee they’ll be up late and having fun, so they’re always good guys to hang around.”

This year’s ACRAs featured musical performances from Mitch Tambo, Budjerah and Cold Chisel’s Ian Moss.

The hosting duties were shared by a number of radio’s most popular stars, including Tim Blackwell, Joel Creasey, Loren Barry and Robin Bailey.
