A CERTAIN Ex-Summer Bay sweetheart is back on our shores, but it's not for a new TV role.

Tammin Sursok is in town to horse around.

The 29-year-old Aussie actress has been named as the new face of Toohey’s new Golden Slipper Day, which kicks off this Saturday, April 9 at Rosehill Gardens in Sydney.

Sursok, who found fame as the lovable Dani Sutherland on Home and Away in 2000, is here as an ambassador for Australia's richest day of racing and says she was thrilled when her name was thrown into the mix.

"I love racing so I jumped at the opportunity", the Logie Award winner told news.com.au.

"Nowhere else in the world is there racing like in Australia. There's so much national pride around it, it's really important to Aussies."

The now LA-based actress will be among the star-studded crowd this weekend, bringing awareness to the event, as well as presenting the $23,000 Golden Slipper trophy.

While not giving away the name of her chosen designer for the glitzy event, Sursok did confirm that she will be wearing an Aussie label, along with a hat that is "feathered, felt and all the fun things."

"LA is very casual, so I'm looking forward to feeling like a princess [on Saturday].

"[Racing] brings people together - it's fantastic entertainment and is part of our make-up as Aussies", she added.

Speaking of bringing people together, Tammin is using the this jaunt as an opportunity to catch up with family and friends, before heading back to LA where she lives with her movie producer husband, Sean McEwen, to continue filming season four of Pretty Little Liars.

The teen drama-thriller - in which Sursok plays vision-impaired villainess, Jenna - is currently the number one show in the US on pay TV for 18-25-year-olds.

It's a fair departure from her role on Seven’s long-running soapie but she's certainly lapping up the change of pace.

"I'm no longer the heroine; the sweet girl next door. Everyone is afraid of me, I get to say and do horrible things."

The hit series has recently confirmed a fifth season, which Sursok is also locked in for.
