Nigella Lawson’s avocado toast sends Twitter into meltdown

HER new TV show is all about presenting simple recipes. But the latest offering from culinary queen Nigella Lawson has sent viewers into meltdown.

Culinary goddess ... Nigella Lawson cooks up a storm — well, not really — in the first episode of Simply Nigella.

HER new TV show is all about presenting “recipes that are uncomplicated, relaxed and yet always satisfying”.

But Nigella Lawson’s much-anticipated return to television has sent Twitter into meltdown.

And what was the offending segment?

The culinary queen’s opening episode of Simply Nigella featured a segment on how to serve mashed avocado on toast.

Admittedly, Lawson’s version — served with chilli flakes and lemon zest atop organic rye bread — was a bit fancier than the norm.

But the offering sent some viewers into a frenzy, prompting those who felt cheated to take to social media to vent their dismay.
