Netflix trailer for You season 2 shows Penn Badgley’s character’s fresh start in LA
It was the breakout hit on Netflix this year, and now we’ve finally been given a sneak peek of the second season for thriller series You.
Netflix have finally dropped a trailer for the new series of You, and it looks like season 2 is going to be even creepier than the first.
In a sneak peek we find out that Penn Badgley’s character Joe has a new identity as he embarks on a fresh start in LA.
Over the last few weeks, Netflix and the You Instagram account have been teasing fans with pictures from the new series, which hits streaming on Boxing Day, but today we finally got a real look at psychopath Joe back in action.

Warning, spoiler for season 1 ahead.
Last time we saw Joe, he stalked and eventually murdered his girlfriend Beck in New York, just as his long-lost ex-girlfriend Candace showed up right at the end.
In season 2 Candace is hellbent on revenge, however Joe is soon fixated on a new woman, whose name is – ironically – Love.
The trailer opens up with some footage of LA as we see Joe heading into a coffee shop.
In typical Joe fashion, and in the same way he did at the beginning of season 1, he begins judging everyone around him through an inner monologue – from the guy sitting cross-legged at the counter eating a gluten-free muffin to the girl laughing to herself at a table, working on a screenplay that she hopes to publish.

From the first season of You, we know Joe enjoys the power of scrutinising people around him and thinking he can read them like a book.
He uses this to his advantage as he is able to manipulate and entice people into his world.
“See, that’s the thing about LA, everyone is pretending to be someone they’re not,” his inner monologue concludes as the barista asks him for his name.
Instead of introducing himself as Joe, he says, “Yeah, I’m Will” with a creepy smile.
Fans have been eagerly awaiting the second series.
The first one was welcomed with rave reviews after it dropped in December 2018.
But the wait is almost over for season 2, which will be available to binge watch on Netflix on Boxing Day.
