‘Why not’: Karl Stefanovic loses it as NDIS Minister Bill Shorten admits he lets his dog see him naked

Karl Stefanovic has lost it over a minister’s shocking admission about his dog that has never “ratted” him out.

Karl Stefanovic loses it over Bill Shorten's 'naked' dog comments

Karl Stefanovic has lost it on air over NDIS Minister Bill Shorten’s dog confession.

Speaking with Opposition Leader Peter Dutton and Mr Shorten, Stefanovic couldn’t resist posing a personal question to the MPs.

“(This question) needs to be answered this morning. You guys need to be honest … One in 10 Australians don’t let their dog see them naked. Do you?” Stefanovic asked on the Today show on Friday morning.

After a moment of hesitation where it appeared Mr Shorten couldn’t hear the question, Stefanovic pressed on.

“Come on, Bill, do you get naked in front of your dog?” he said.

Mr Shorten replied: “My dog’s naked all the time … Yeah, why not.

“I love my dog, and he never gives up a secret. He’s never ratted me out, ever,” Mr Shorten said.

“Loyalest friend I’ve got in politics.”

The answer sent Stefanovic into a laughing fit before Mr Dutton shared his own response.

“Well, Karl, I was just happy that Bill went first, but even with all that time, I still can’t think of a response,” he said.

“I love (my dog) Ralph, too, but not in the same way Bill’s talking about, it seems.

“I don’t know, but I’ll spare Ralph any drama.”

It comes after Mr Dutton branded Prime Minister Anthony Albanese “weak” for not deregistering the CFMEU amid allegations of bullying, intimidation and criminal links within the union.

“If you deregister the CFMEU, you stamp it out. That’s exactly what Bob Hawke did because he had the guts and the backbone to stand up against a militant, corrupt union in the BLF (Builders Labourers Federation),” Mr Dutton told the Today show.

“Anthony Albanese isn’t a patch on Bob Hawke, and he’s just demonstrated again how weak and pathetic he is as a prime minister.”
