Today host Cameron Williams sleeps in, missing his live cross from Brisbane
OOPS. Today’s Cameron Williams slept in and missed his live cross from Brisbane this morning.
OOPS. Today’s Cameron Williams slept in and missed his live cross from Brisbane this morning.
The Channel Nine breakfast show presenter tweeted last night that he was looking forward to a cracker of a match between the North Queensland Cowboys and Brisbane Broncos at Suncorp Stadium — prompting speculation that he may have had a big night.
Expecting #NRLBroncosCowboys to be a cracker. How will Broncos attack Thurston? How will Cows respond?

Williams’s colleagues thoughtfully shared his mistake with their combined 40,000 Twitter followers.
Morning @camjwilliams - nice of you to join us from #Brisbane after (supposedly) sleeping in! Prepare for ribbing! #Today9

Williams now joins a select group of morning TV show hosts who have missed their on-air segments, or did them in a massively sleep-deprived state.
Karl Stefanovic famously appeared on air the morning after the Logies in 2009, slurring the occasional word and looking like he needed a solid eight hours in the cot.
And just last month, US Today show host Savannah Guthrie overslept for the first time in two and a half years of hosting duties.
But the exemplar of this group must be Fox News host Tucker Carlson, who nodded off on-air during a 2013 broadcast.
Carlson was co-hosting the network’s morning show Fox & Friends when he slumped over and caught a few zees during an ad break.
“He’s really asleep,” co-host Mike Jerrick whispered, as the camera crew laughed in the background.
Carlson took the incident in his stride and acted like nothing had happened when he awoke.
Later, he admitted he just decided to “roll with it” when he realised what he had done.
“It’s impossible to embarrass me,” he said. “I danced on television, so what, you’re going to hurt my feelings? I don’t have any left.”
