Sarah Harris: ‘I want to say to the haters, get stuffed’

STUDIO 10 presenter Sarah Harris, who is seven months pregnant, has had enough after unflattering pictures of her were published online.

Sarah Harris: "I'm growing a baby. This is me."

BLOODY good on you Sarah Harris.

The Studio 10 presenter, who is seven months pregnant with her first child, has simply had enough of the body shamers, telling them to “get stuffed” live on air this morning.

Harris addressed pictures that were published online by a news site yesterday which showed her without makeup and in casual clothes, revealing what she “really looks like off duty”.

The television host said her first reaction to the unflattering pictures was one of shame before quickly realising that there was nothing wrong with how she looked just two months away from giving birth.

The 34-year-old added that she made the mistake of reading the vile comments left on the story by readers.

‘I’m growing a baby. This is me,’ Harris said this morning.

“Some of them were just revolting,” she said on Studio 10 this morning, “having a go of how huge I am, how fat I am, how ugly I am, and when you’re pregnant you do feel very vulnerable and selfconscious about your body and I did feel pretty awful about the comments and the pictures, but then I thought ‘you know what? Bugger it, I’m growing a baby. This is me’.

“This is how I get around once I leave work, I take off the pretty frocks, the heavy makeup, the hair, I take off my spanx which I’m still wearing. That’s what I look like and that’s OK.”

Harris said she hoped the photos made other pregnant women feel better about their bodies, and echoed Christina Applegate’s comments in which she congratulated herself for the ability to grow ‘brain matter and elbows’.

“I’m kind of fed up with the body shaming that happens when you’re pregnant and then the pressure that comes afterwards to lose the baby weight.

“On behalf of all the pregnant women out there who might be feeling a little bit chubby and a little bit flabby, on behalf of all of them, I want to say to the haters ‘get stuffed’.”

In one final hilarious statement on the matter, she clarified: “And by the way, I wasn’t leaving work, I was leaving a Mexican restaurant where I had an awesome, awesome chicken burrito at the time.

“Don’t try and come between me and a chicken burrito.”

Well said Sarah.
