Reason Natalie Barr left Sunrise set mid-show revealed
Sunrise viewers were left scratching their heads when Natalie Barr exited the show during an ad break and was replaced by another presenter.
The reason behind Natalie Barr’s very abrupt departure from Sunrise on Tuesday has been revealed.
Viewers were left scratching their heads after the 8am news bulletin when the camera returned to the desk – and the Seven co-host was nowhere to be seen.
She was instead replaced by Weekend Sunrise host Monique Wright, who sat alongside David ‘Kochie’ Koch.
“Good morning, back now for our 8am hour on Sunrise. Thanks so much for joining us,” Wright told viewers, before Kochie jokingly replied: “What the hell are you doing here?”
“Nat’s just scurried out, and I happened to have been under the couch,” she replied.
“But breaking news, we’ve just received the call that Nat’s got an exclusive interview so she’s dashing to the airport as we speak,” Kochie explained.
“We’ll bring that to you tomorrow.”
Barr later took to Instagram to reveal she’d landed an interview with the family of late Aussie icon Olivia Newton-John, following her state memorial service in Melbourne over the weekend.
She shared an image of herself with the Grease star’s daughter, Chloe Lattanzi, and husband, John Easterling, describing their “emotional interview” in the caption.
“It was an emotional interview but a really funny one too, with two people who dearly loved Australia’s sweetheart,” Barr wrote.
“The world knew her as the beautiful singer with the angelic voice, but now Chloe and John have sat down with me to share the part of Olivia only they saw.”
The interview will air during Sunrise on Seven this morning.
