Crossing live to the Today Show this morning, Stefanovic struggled to get his words out as the wind tossed him around.
“On some parts of the coast the winds exceeded about 95 kilometres an hour,” he said to the camera, dodging the rolling storm.
“It’s so strong, it feels like you’re in the middle of a sand storm because of the sand that kicks up on the beach.
Just last week, Stefanovic and Jeffreys were snapped taking advantage of Sydney’s hot weather following more than a year of long-distance dating while Stefanovic worked as Nine’s Europe, Middle East and Africa correspondent.
The high-profile television pair began dating after hosting the Today Show together over the Christmas holidays in 2013.
Jeffreys took over the coveted newsreader television spot from Georgie Gardner last June.
The Channel 9 reporter has been in Sydney for three years, first gaining significant recognition for her coverage of the Queensland floods for the network in 2010 and 2011.
