Hanson, 60, who is the on-again off-again leader of the One Nation party, suggested that controversial journalist Hinch, 71, would not know what it was like to raise children because he only has one stepchild.

The flame-haired politician, who has four children, snapped at Hinch after he said he did not agree with her on a debate about quality parenting.

“I’m glad I was getting a bit worried here, you are wrong,” Hinch told Hanson.

“And how many children have you reared Derryn? How many children have you actually reared?,” Hanson said.

But when Hanson alluded that a stepchild was not a like having a real child, Hinch fired up.

“Only one and he’s turned out very, very well!” Hinch responded.

Hanson said: “That’s your child? I’ve had four Derryn.”

“Hang on Pauline Hanson, a step child is still a child. My stepson was with me from the age of nine until 21,” Hinch snapped back.

“I resent anyone telling me that I did not have a child. He was my stepson, who I’m very proud of, he’s turn out very well and I have wonderful grandchildren with him.”

A stuttering Hanson replied: “That’s fine but you have no idea from that to nine years of age telling someone who’s had four children.”

The pair were cut off by David Koch after the on-air interview became too heated.

Hinch made headlines yesterday after it was revealed he had split with long-term partner Natasha Chadwick by sharing her Facebook post.

The ‘human headline’ shared the “devastated” Chadwick’s post, which originally appeared on March 27, on his own page yesterday afternoon.

She wrote: “I have a sad announcement to make. Derryn Hinch and I have ended our relationship after two years and have separated.

In a separate post, which Hinch also shared, Chadwick denied the two of them were engaged.

“It has been reported that Derryn and I were engaged. We have never been engaged.”
