In one of his more adorable interviews, Karl Stefanovic crossed live to London this morning to chat to Harley Bird, the teenager who voices everyone’s favourite snorting cartoon.

The 13-year-old has been voicing Peppa since she was just five years old and told Stefanovic she hopes to keep doing it “for forever”.

The English actress and voice-over artist is the third voice of the beloved piglet, and said of how she first landed the gig, “I guess I just sounded a bit like a pig when I was younger,” adding,

“I’d grown up watching Peppa, so it was a dream.”

The gorgeous Harley Bird chatted all things Peppa with Karl on the Today show.

The preschool global phenomenon that is Peppa Pig turns 11 years old this year and is now shown in more than 180 countries around the world. But the animated ginger-haired teen told Stefanovic that, after eight years in the role, her voice has only recently started being recognised.

She also admitted that, unlike her happily chortling character, Bird can’t actually snort! “Every year, my new year’s resolution is to learn how to snort but I still can’t do it,” she said.

So who’s the professional snorter? “Neville, the producer.”

Bird had a few fun facts for Stefanovic — she doesn’t eat bacon, and she has two pet pigs of her very own (named Peppa and George, of course).

She also dispelled any rumours of a rift between Peppa and Porky Pig, because she “doesn’t really know who Porky is.”

Peppa and George have become a global phenomenon.
