SHE’S snatched a career based on the words she delivers to viewers but this morning Lisa Wilkinson just couldn’t get the right ones out.

The result? An epic slip up.

The 55-year-old Today Show co-host, originally from Wollongong, had reminded everyone that today was the first day of winter.

She wrote on her official page: “Happy first day of winter folks. Wishing you an extra five minutes under the Fiona.”

After social media lit up with commenters cheekily responding: “What if you don’t have a Fiona?” and another “Always looking for 5 more minutes under the Fiona,” Wilkinson made a red-face confession.

She tweeted: “Woops, that last tweet should’ve read “wishing u an extra 5mins under the DOONA”, not “under Fiona”. Apologies to all Fionas. #autocorrect!”

Oh well.

Hopefully the message got out there.
