“I will always love you so much,” she said. “You were so important to me. … I feel like we’ve been through so much together.

“When we used to talk and FaceTime, I was always like, ‘You know, I’ve really grown up, Justin,’” she continued. “I always wanted to prove to you what a different person I was than when we dated.”

Long returned the sentiment, calling the actress “the best.”

He gushed, “I love that we maintained our love because I know from my end it will never go away. I love you always. I am glad that we are able to still have that. I mean that. I’ll always love you.”

The former couple went on to reflect on the “chaos” of their “hedonistic” relationship.

“We would get together, we would break up,” Barrymore recalled. “It was hella fun.”

She had previously praised Long when he began dating Kate Bosworth, telling her talk show audience how the actor “gets all the ladies.

Barrymore explained in July, “He is one of the sharpest, wittiest [people]. He’s brilliant, and he’ll just knock your socks off with laughter.”

Long, who has been in a relationship with Bosworth, 39, since 2021, was previously linked to Amanda Seyfried.

As for Barrymore, the Golden Globe winner was married to Will Kopelman from 2012 to 2016, and the exes co-parent daughters Olive, 9, and Frankie, 8.

In January, Barrymore asked Queer Eye star Bobby Berk for advice on dating as a single mum, noting that Kopelman, 44, has moved on with wife Alexandra Michler.

“I’ve had a few in-person dates that I would have given anything for them to be on Zoom,” she said in an episode of her show. “I don’t talk about my kids [on these dates] because I think we probably have to get to know each other first.”

Barrymore added that she never intends to tie the knot again, clarifying that she might “live with someone again” one day.
