“Georgie is getting married, the last of the four, so it’s going to be good,” he said.

He added that he would be sharing a house with his future son-in-law Alex’s parents while in the UK.

“We’re all sharing a house with he and his parents before the wedding and we’ve never met,” Koch said.

“It’ll either be Father Of The Bride or Nightmare On Elm Street. It will be a bit of fun.”

As well as having four kids, Koch and his wife Libby have eight grandchildren.

Koch’s well-earned break comes after the longtime Sunrise host recently vanished from screens during an ad break after just 25 minutes on air.

His sudden departure during a May episode was announced by Natalie Barr, who told viewers her co-anchor was suffering with a bout of laryngitis.

“You may notice something slightly different,” she said to the camera on Tuesday morning.

“Kochie came in [and] he bravely fought on for about 25 minutes.

“He had laryngitis yesterday and apparently he’s still got it. He couldn’t really speak.”

Surprise illnesses have plagued Australia’s morning TV presenters this year - both Koch and co-host Natalie Barr were absent from the show at the same time back in March due to sickness, with substitutes stepping up to covering hosting duties.

And just last week, co-host of rival brekkie program Today, Ally Langdon, abruptly disappeared from screens mid-episode, with Karl Stefanovic left to host the rest of the show alone.

Stefanovic revealed to viewers just before 7am last Monday that his co-host had gone home sick due to a “frog in her throat”.
