‘Can you not do that?’: Larry Emdur calls out co-host after on-air slip

Morning Show presenter Larry Emdur has defended himself after calling out his co-host Sally Bowrey for an apparent on-air slip.

Seven host Larry Emdur has taken to Instagram to explain himself after an awkward moment on The Morning Show made headlines on Thursday.

It comes after his co-host Sally Bowrey appeared to swear on air, prompting a cheeky scolding from Emdur in what viewers have described as “awkward banter” between the pair.

Posting a screenshot of the Daily Mail’s coverage of the moment, he wrote: “I’m copping a bit of sh*t about this … just so we’re 100000% clear, if anyone thinks I was SERIOUSLY upset with @sallybowrey7 saying “sh*t” on @morningshowon7 then you don’t ***ken know me very ***ken well at all ..”

He added: “ (For the record Sally denies saying sh*t ).”

During Thursday’s episode of The Morning Show, the TV presenters were talking about how the house where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle filmed their Netflix program was for sale.

Bowrey was discussing how the Sussexes’ docu-series misled viewers by convincing them that the couple owned the property.

“I feel like it was a bit misleading. I feel like … s**t, why would she [Meghan] be sitting in a random person’s house?,” Bowrey said.

Emdur asked his co-worker if she just swore, much to her surprise.

“Can you not do that?,” Emdur asked Bowrey, deadpan, to which she responded: “I didn’t swear.”

“This is a very respectable morning program and you just swore,” the former Price Is Right host said.

Bowrey insisted she said the word “misleading”. However, Emdur maintained that she swore too.

“After the lawyers are finished with it, we’re going to run that back. It sounded like you swore to me,” Emdur said.

The moment resulted in an uncomfortable silence between the two.

It wasn’t the only time things were frosty between the pair.

Earlier in the episode, Bowrey introduced a segment about mum’s hangover cure and made a dig at Emdur.

“An Aussie mum has gone viral for her hilarious hangover cure. We might need this … not me obviously,” she said.

The news presenter then pointed to Emdur.

“Just a little bit of projecting there,” Emdur quipped back.
