Dominello said the tragedy rocked her.

“While during these times you’re reminded that material things don’t matter, losing absolutely everything you own is a unique kind of tragedy,” she said.

“Shout out to the amazing neighbours, volunteers, NSW RFS and NSW police who did everything they could to save this home.

“It’s pretty surreal knowing that all this devastation was caused by a strike of lightning and gone within hours.”

Matthew Lloyd from the NSW RFS told 9News the inferno forced crews out of the building “fairly quickly” before the roof collapsed.

“It was burning quite hot,” he said. “It was a fairly significant fire that extended throughout the roof cavity.

“So, unfortunately, despite the good work or the careers, it’s probably a total loss.”

At the time of publication, almost $15000 has been raised.
