STAND-IN Today show host Roz Kelly fell victim to one of Karl Stefanovic's infamous pranks this morning when he hijacked the autocue moments before her news update
The Nine Network sports reporter was delivering a report on football team Chelsea's victory in the Europa Cup when the Anchorman-style gaffe went down.
UPDATE: Roz gets her "revenge" on Karl
After commenting that that tournament was played in Amsterdam, Roz promptly followed with, "How good are the cookies there?"
The joke caused hosts Karl and Lisa to fall about in hysterics while it slowly dawned on the newcomer what had just come out of her mouth.
"See, I read everything on the autocue, it's like Anchorman," Kelly admitted, without battering an eyelid.
"As it was coming out of my mouth I knew exactly what had happened."
To her credit, the lovable sports presenter didn't even blush, instead laughing off the hoax and admitting she didn't check her final script.
Roz took to Twitter to explain how she fell for Karl's gag:
@lottiewillis hahaha biggest for the stitch up! It's too early I was half asleep still
A Today show source confirmed that Stefanovic was responsible for the cheeky line.
Before the segment ended, Roz promised Karl that "the war has just begun".
Taking on Karl? Looks like this brave reporter might be one to watch.
