WHEN a high profile ex-husband interviews his even more famous ex-wife, the result is bound to make riveting television.

In an emotional, in depth and somewhat flirty interview airing on Seven’s Sunday Night, broadcaster Derryn Hinch sits down with the Oscar nominee who happens to be his former spouse and best friend, renowned actress Jacki Weaver.
On the eve of the Academy Awards, the pair open up about their marriage, or in their case marriages. The pair went back for a second go at wedded bliss, marrying each other again.
“This is a producer's question,’’ Hinch says to Weaver. “Can you remind me, why did we break up again?”
“Cos I ran off with another man. And I’m sorry. But he was lovely,’’ she smiles.
“Yes, he was nice,’’ adds Hinch humbly.
“But it didn’t take you long to find another woman,’’ adds Weaver.
“I think we end it here,’’ says Hinch quickly as the interview comes to an end.
“Or find another 12 other women, I might say,’’ Weaver adds good-naturedly.
The Human Headline has had an action packed week on the home front, confirming a marriage split from wife, Chanel, his No. 5.
Weaver and Hinch have remained great friends, as Jacki has with all of her ex partners, including theatrical great Richard Wherrett who died in 2001.
Weaver, who is now married to actor Sean Taylor, is in the running for an Oscar on Monday, her second nomination in three years, this time for her supporting acting role in Silver Linings Playbook.
After 50 years in show business the actress is hardly an overnight sensation, and her success is not lost on her former husband-turned-interviewer.
In the Sunday Night interview, Weaver describes Hinch as just one of nine ‘husbands’ in her love life and also talks about her career, a sex abuse secret she hid from everyone, and how she delivered her own granddaughter.
Whether the pair recall how they first hooked up - Hinch bought a full page ad in a local Adelaide paper and put the headline ‘Jackie Weaver Superstar’ on it before expressing how much he loved her - we’ll soon find out.
Sunday Night will air on Seven at 6.30pm AEDT
