A Home And Away star has revealed a bizarre fact about Ray Meagher.

Luke Jacobz spoke to news.com.au ahead of his return to Summer Bay as Detective Angelo Rosetta after a 10-year hiatus. And during the chat, he spilled a couple of juicy behind-the-scenes secrets from the Channel 7 show, including one about Meagher who has played Alf Stewart on the since 1988.

According to Jacobz, Meagher doesn’t use the green room that’s set up for the actors when they’re shooting on location in Palm Beach. Instead, Meagher sits alone in his car.

“We have a wardrobe truck, a makeup truck, a dressing room truck as well and a catering truck,” Jacobz explained. “He (Meagher) parks his car right next to the green room truck.

“His favourite thing is just to sit in his car. I don’t know if he listens to podcasts or reads but he just has his own little quiet place in his car.

“If he’s got two or three scenes off he just sits there,” Jacobz said. “Every now and then he’ll kick the door open and wave to you and say hello.

“I think he’s just super happy sitting in the car.”

Jacobz described Meagher as “one of the most beautiful men in the world” and said the legendary actor “always has a smile on his face”.

Jacobz also shared a fun fact with news.com.au about his co-star Tim Franklin who plays Colby Thorne on Home And Away.

“When we shoot at Palm Beach on location, we have breakfast and lunch provided,” Jacobz said. “Tim’s the sort of man who sometimes turns up to work when he’s not working just so he can have some lunch.

“He’s been spotted up there at 6.30 in the morning when he just decided to pop in and have breakfast with everyone because he was ‘in the area’.”

Jacobz is set to return to Home And Away as Detective Angelo Rosetta next week. It’s his first time on the show since he left 10 years ago, but as he explained to news.com.au, it’s not exactly the only character he’s played on the soap.

“Angelo is actually the fourth character I’ve played,” he said. “When I was a teenager I came in and did a little 50-worded guest role and then I came back and did another one a few years later because my hair was different. I came back and I broke up Gypsy (played by Kimberley Cooper) and Will (played by Zac Dryson) and then 10 years after that I came back as Angelo.”

Jacobz said Home And Away has “been a magnet for me”.

He added: “I can’t stop coming back.”

To be fair, why would you want to stop when you get free lunch and breakfast?
